This heirloom cucumber dates back to 1880 and has been prized by gardeners for its high yield of short cucumbers with a crisp flesh that make excellent pickles, whether sweets or dills. Vines grow long and will bear continuously. We recommend trellising this cucumber and harvesting fruit when they are 3-7 inches long.
Where to plant :: Plant cucumbers in an area with full sun and and rich, fertile soil.
When to start inside :: Start seeds indoors 3-4 weeks before your last frost date.
When to sow outside :: Transplant cucumbers or plant seeds directly in the garden after the last frost once the soil has warmed.
